I was watching the new Jane Eyre film, and this came to me:
Stained red horizon,
Thunder, lightning, peals the sky,
Wraith-like, I am love.
I had to pull out my phone and surreptitiously jot it down (note to self need to carry small notebook and pen at all times!), which of course with all the light coming from the screen, and clicking buttons was nigh impossible!
The film is so great, for me it is an instant classic. Of course having not read the book, I’m not familiar with the source material, but will definitely add it to my ever growing list of classics to read!
Mia Wasikowski is just supurb in the titular role. As is Michael Fassbender as the love interest. Sally Hawkins made me love her ever more in her tiny role as the wicked aunt! Judy Dench was rather dowdy as the housekeeper, but still good nonetheless.
Also as a bonus for me, having done my haiku now means no late night uninspired dross!
Peace!

  1. It’s good to get your homework done early. 🙂

  2. Haiku bear says:

I realised I accidentally put peels instead of peals! Which of course still gives a great image of sound peeling layers from the sky.
